Patience and Perseverance

So Flybridge Capital Pty Ltd hit the one year anniversary 4 days ago.

The 12 months as we call one year has felt much longer than the last 5 years, yet it has been more rewarding on an intellectual level for reasons which only people will know that have experienced true enterprising spirit.

People always ask; How did you produce the Flybridge name? It was a conversation over lunch with Matthew Cook at Spire Capital. Matt is someone I have been in contact from 2010 when he commenced his business from scratch. He said to me “Use a fishing theme,” so it all came about within a week. Like a Spire on a building, the highest point on a game fishing boat is the Flybridge and the person in that position navigates the waters for the game fisherperson in the seat at the stern of the boat with the fishing lines in the water.

With one year now on board, when I refer to enterprising spirit, I do not refer to the highs of chasing deals or lows of about to go broke. I centre my thoughts around the concept of Patience and Perseverance, again which ties back to success in the art and science of fishing and equally applies to business.

We have a saying in the Australian Bream fishing tournament arena, “when you think you are on a slow retrieve, roll it even slower” this is referring to the patience part on the retrieve of a lure.

The perseverance part relates to just getting up and out there in any conditions to assess your skill, luck, and patience.

So, we at Flybridge are incredibly happy one year in. We have achieved so much in 12 months form zero, to a brand with a licence, to getting a couple of clients who have entrusted in us on our trade and to our suppliers in a host of operational services that have supported the journey thus far, we thank you both for the early support.

Looking forward Flybridge will have further exciting news in 2025 just around the corner as the patience and perseverance are starting to build momentum.
